What Warehouse Operations Contributes To Cardinal Health

Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. It includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management, and demand, supply and manufacturing planning.

Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing and controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions such as receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. It also ensures the efficient flow of products from vendors to internal and external customers.

Job Summary

The primary purpose of the Lead Associate, Warehouse Operations is to support the Warehouse Supervisor through inbound or outbound management of the warehouse floor and to facilitate effective operations through direction of warehouse staff, in accordance with operational priorities. In addition, this role assists in coordinating receipt of shipments and scheduling incoming trucks, as well as making internal appointments. The Lead Associate also delegates work among the staff and produces reports on workforce productivity and quality, while communicating with external customers about disruptions, delivery timelines, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
  • Follows SOPs to assess inventory levels, submit orders, and audit warehouse operations to facilitate successful activity.
  • Directs workflows on the warehouse floor, including packing, unloading, shipping, and managing delivery schedules.
  • Analyzes internal data and reports on productivity and efficiency to determine performance relative to expectations.
  • Coordinates with Warehouse Supervisors to align on priorities and operational objectives.
  • Assists in inbound and outbound workload forecasting through historical and trend analysis to guide labor utilization.
  • Assists in inventory management, and helps with stocking and shipping as necessary.
Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Material handling equipment experience preferred.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
