Position: Area Coordinator 2 Production Day shift

The Area Coordinator 2 (AC2) is a front-line leadership role within our distribution center, responsible for performing tasks and coordinating workflow in an assigned warehouse area. This position requires hands‑on operational expertise, leadership during peak seasons, and forklift proficiency. AC2 provides direction and support to seasonal and temporary staff to ensure safety, accuracy, and productivity.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Perform hands‑on tasks in the assigned area or production line during non‑peak periods, including order picking, packing, inventory management, and product handling.
  • Supervise and guide seasonal or temporary labor during peak periods, providing hands‑on leadership to ensure productivity, quality, and adherence to safety standards. Also supervise and guide Full Time employees at 1‑800 Flowers.
  • Safely operate all types of forklifts used in the distribution center, including sit‑down, reach trucks, walkie riders, order pickers, etc., to support material handling and workflow efficiency.
  • Monitor and maintain performance metrics for the assigned area, ensuring operational goals for accuracy, speed, and quality are met.
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure all team members follow standard operating procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Work closely with other Area Coordinators, supervisors, and management to coordinate workflows and address operational challenges.
  • Train seasonal or temporary staff on tasks, equipment use, and safety procedures to ensure operational consistency.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues in the assigned area, escalating complex problems to management as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of warehouse/distribution experience required; experience guiding seasonal staff preferred.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Forklift certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills; proficiency with WMS, RF scanners, and basic computer use.
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays, especially during peak seasons.
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. regularly.
  • Prolonged standing, walking, and bending in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Safe operation of forklifts and other material‑handling equipment.
Work Environment & Schedule
  • Fast‑paced warehouse setting with temperature changes and moving equipment.
  • Standard shifts with overtime required during seasonal peaks.
