CDL Truck Driver

Southway is looking to add experienced full-time truck drivers to our growing Branch. Candidate must possess a minimum of 3 years of experience. You must be able to pass a background check and drug test. All candidates will perform a skills verification test on site before hire.

• Load and unload cargo.
• Record amount and type of cargo being delivered.
• Take orders for new deliveries and drive long distances.
• Fill up on fuel, clean truck, and wash windows.
• Report to a dispatcher any incidents encountered on the road.
• Monitor road conditions and watch for traffic congestion.
• Follow all applicable traffic laws.
• Inspect your trailer before and after the trip and record any defects you find.
• Follow accident procedures if an accident occurs.
• Keep a log of your activities.
• Report serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
• Keep your truck and associated equipment clean and in good working order.

• Must have a current state‑issued Class A CDL Driver’s License (No Automatic Endorsement).
• Minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience.

• Ability to interpret, read manuals, and write reports in English.
• Mechanical and analytical skills preferred.
• Ability to prioritize, organize work, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to provide proper hand signals to crane and truck operators.
• Ability to verbally communicate safety issues to customers and other workers on location before and during job tasks.
• Ability to work at heights and use all required PPE for fall protection correctly.
• Ability to employ physiological movements and actions associated with heavy work.
• Ability to bend, stoop, lift, see, hear, walk, lift up to 75 lb., twist, crawl, climb, squat, kneel, sit, and stand.
• Eyesight sufficient to operate a motor vehicle, inspect equipment, and complete paperwork.
• Hearing sufficient for telephone contact and interpersonal communication with customers and coworkers.
• Other duties as assigned.
