Job SummaryThe Retention Specialist will serve as a key leader in advancing student success within the NISS and Title III initiatives. This role is responsible for designing and implementing targeted retention strategies for high-priority student populations, including First Year, First Full-time students and those in academic jeopardy. The Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting a smooth transition into the college, fostering engagement, and promoting persistence through graduation.
This position requires a high level of initiative, empathy and student engagement. The ideal candidate should be passionate about student development, skilled in outreach and communication and committed to student success.
Responsibilities- Leading retention campaigns and programming tailored to the needs of specialized cohorts.
- Providing individualized support and connecting students to academic, social and wellness resources.
- Collaborating with faculty, advisors, and student services to create a cohesive supportive network.
- Proactively identify at-risk students using data-informed approaches and direct outreach.
- Monitoring and oversee student progress and implementing early intervention strategies to promote course completion and academic recovery.
Educational Requirements:
Bachelors Degree
Required Experience:
Two (2) years of work related experience
Part-time compensation $21,750/annual; approximately 19 hours/week
