Java Developer; Education and eCommerce

Our client is a prominent U.S.

-based technology provider of secure commerce and credential solutions for higher education. As part of a Fortune 500 company, their flagship platform enables colleges and universities to manage tuition, fees, billing, , and payment services in real-time, integrating seamlessly with campus ERP systems. Their solutions drive digital transformation, efficiency, and transparency across the student financial lifecycle.

You’ll join a team working on a secure enterprise-grade SaaS billing and payment solution used across hundreds of U.S. campuses. The system enables real-time tuition billing, online payments, refunds, and multi-method financial workflows. Built to meet the highest standards of security and compliance, it supports both students and administrators with transparent, automated, and scalable billing operations. The backend developer will contribute to core platform development and service integration, helping to improve performance, ensure data consistency, and support a growing user base.

• Design and implement backend services using Java 17, Spring Boot 3, and Spring Framework.
• Develop and integrate secure REST APIs and web components using Servlets, JSP, and JSTL.
• Work with relational databases (SQL Server, Postgre
  
  SQL) to manage data schemas, optimize queries, and ensure performance.
• Implement authentication and authorization using Spring Security.
• Collaborate with frontend teams using React, Bootstrap, and jQuery.
• Write unit and integration tests using JUnit and Mockito.
• Participate in CI/CD pipeline configuration and support with Jenkins and Ansible.
• Work within Agile development teams, participating in sprint planning, code reviews, and daily stand-ups.
• Ensure high standards of code quality, performance, and maintainability.
• Debug and resolve application issues across the full development lifecycle.

• 5+ years of backend Java development experience.
• Strong proficiency in Java 17, Spring Boot, and associated Spring technologies.
• Experience with Hibernate/JPA for ORM and REST API development.
• Experience with Servlets, JSP, JSTL in enterprise web applications.
• Deep knowledge of SQL Server and Postgre
  
  SQL including database design and optimization.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins and Ansible.
• Experience in unit testing using JUnit and Mockito.
• Hands-on experience with Git, Maven, Intelli
  
  J IDEA.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and collaboration tools (Jira, Git Hub).
• English proficiency at B2 level or higher.
