Slate Safety is looking for a Software Engineer to join our high-velocity engineering team. As a nimble startup, we value builders who thrive on collaboration and are eager to shape the future. In this role, you won’t just write code; you’ll architect new features and ship directly to our customers. Here, your work moves from "idea" to "impact" quickly, to help protect workers in real-time.
Duties and responsibilities
- You will be working directly on the software development of our cloud, web, and mobile platform which ingests IoT data from wearable and fixed sensors and displays that data to safety teams. While the software development spans the fullstack, we envision this role predominantly focused on mobile engineering with expectation to pivot to backend/web from time to time. This role is a great opportunity to make a major impact on protecting and preventing injuries for workers across the world.
Qualifications
- BS, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent in experience required.
- 2+ years of software engineering experience
- Proven ability to write reliable, high-performance, and testable code
- AWS knowledge and expertise
- Excellent organizational skills, strong interpersonal / communication skills, leadership, planning and technical/problem analysis abilities
- Experience implementing software security best practices
- Candidate must consent to a background check
Preferred Qualifications
- Passionate about technology with demonstrated evidence of being a maker or tinkerer
- Experience leading and participating in cross functional teams
- Experience working with PostgreSQL
- Experience working with Type Script
- Experience working with React or React-Native
- Experience working with Node
- MS, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent in experience.
