Job Overview
Georgia-Pacific is seeking a Sr Software Engineer - Integrations to design, implement, and maintain robust integration solutions for manufacturing processes. The role focuses on integrating industrial systems, protocols, and cloud services.
LocationAtlanta, GA or Green Bay, WI (HYBRID SCHEDULE). This role is not available to anyone who is currently a VISA holder or requires sponsorship.
TeamGP's Software Engineering & Integration team focuses on designing, building, delivering and maintaining custom software solutions and integrations.
Responsibilities- Lead, design, develop, and implement custom connectors and integrations using GoLang or Python to connect disparate systems and devices.
- Build and optimize integrations across industrial protocols (OPC-UA, MQTT, MODBUS, etc.) and system protocols (REST, SOAP, etc.).
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to gather requirements and define integration strategies.
- Enable seamless data exchange between systems, including real‑time streaming platforms (Kinesis, NATS, Kafka).
- Contribute to source code management and collaboration using Git Hub.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to ensure system reliability and uptime.
- Stay current with industry trends and best practices in industrial automation, integration, and cloud‑native architectures.
- Proven programming experience in Go or Python.
- Proven experience deploying APIs and microservices in containerized environments using Kubernetes.
- Hands‑on experience with scripting languages (JavaScript and Power Shell).
- Experience integrating AWS services (e.g., S3, Lambda, RDS, EC2) to support cloud‑native architectures.
- Experience with modern integration strategies and best practices.
- Must have legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship.
- Experience with API Gateway, networking principles, and security best practices.
- Hands‑on experience with Dev Ops and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform, Git Ops) and modern CI/CD practices.
- Experience with real‑time data integration using streaming platforms (NATS, Kafka, Kinesis).
- Experience with industrial automation protocols (Modbus, OPC-UA, MQTT).
- Proven experience and ability to collaborate with business stakeholders and technical teams to design integration solutions.
