OverviewCox Automotive is seeking a Software Engineer I to join our Manheim team. The role focuses on designing, developing, and maintaining application and system code to deliver new features, enhance performance, and improve maintainability. It actively contributes to reducing technical debt and aligning development efforts with product and technology roadmaps.

- Develop new or maintain existing programs based on specifications.
- Develop, implement, and maintain unit tests for programs.
- Actively participate in agile team activities.
- Participate in functional test planning and testing for assigned applications, functional areas, or projects.
- Engage in problem‑solving and troubleshooting for assigned applications, functional areas, or projects.
- Identify and automate manual tasks.
- Evaluate and respond to bug submissions.
- Share knowledge by effectively documenting work.
- Stay current with changes in your technical area of expertise.
- Perform performance testing and identify/resolve uncovered issues.
- Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of assigned applications, functional areas, or projects.
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Java and object‑oriented programming.
- Strong problem‑solving and communication skills.
- Foundational skills in analytical thinking, requirements analysis, software installation and support, system and technology integration, and technical troubleshooting.
- Foundational skills in building partnerships, challenging personal limitations, driving innovation, focusing on execution and striving for excellence.
- Other duties as needed or required.
- Exposure to RESTful APIs and microservices.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with front‑end technologies (React, Angular) is a bonus.
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Base salary: $74,000.00 – $ per year. The base may vary within the anticipated pay range based on location and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills, and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation, including an incentive program.
