Sr. Manager of Platform Apps

Working primarily with .NET, SQL, and Web design platforms, the Senior Manager - Platform Apps will design and lead software architectures, transform user needs into technical system designs, develop solutions, perform unit testing, and debug and maintain programs/code.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, provide insights to think beyond the status quo, and oversee small project teams consisting of other engineers.

• Guide/Mentor software engineers and analysts
• Manage resource allocation and provide technical leadership for multiple projects

• Communicate updates and train customers and internal business units

Works closely with Functional/Systems Analyst to develop and document user stories considering architectural and programmatic aspects of the agreed-upon solution.

Develops software based on approved design, writes new programs, or creates modifications to existing applications as necessary based on project requirements.

Creates test plans, test files, and scripts for unit testing through integration testing, performs testing as required, and documents results.

Follows appropriate change management and implementation procedures, ensures that appropriate technical and functional documentation is prepared.

Primarily supports i-3PL and other integration applications, shares responsibility for Call Center support, and provides on-call or after-hours support to new applications after implementation.

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or equivalent
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Knowledge of transportation and warehouse industries
• Demonstrated planning, task organizing, and execution skills
• Ability to work in team-oriented environment
• Working knowledge of software design technologies, best practices, etc.
• Working knowledge of applicable hardware platforms

• Leads the workload distribution for i-3PL Platform/Apps team
• Perform annual reviews and provide feedback for each of the team members
• Provide technical leadership to the team and aides in making the best decision for the business
• Help eliminate blockers to deliver the functionality
• Facilitate the standup/scrum development for the platform/apps team
• Relevant programming experience required
• Expertise in C#, ASP.NET, PL/SQL, T-SQL required
• Expertise with HTML5 standards, CSS, and Java Script
• Knowledge and experience with Angular, jQuery, jQuery UI, and Bootstrap libraries
• Expertise with Power
  
  BI and Microsoft SSRS
• Understanding of public cloud such as AWS or Azure is preferred
