The Georgia Department of Human Services (DHS), Division of Family and Children Services (DFCS) is seeking candidates for the position of Child Welfare Services Intake Administrator, Child Protective Services Intake Communication Center (CICC). Positions are located statewide based on the location of the candidate.

Job Description

Pay Grade: L. This position has designated special entry salary that is non‑negotiable.

Oversees staff that communicates with the general public, internal customers, and/or external customers to provide information and services. Manages the administration of policies and programs designed to assess intakes for determination of priority, allegation type, and handling. Ensures mandated services with priority of child safety and service provision to children and families. Directs subordinate supervisors and staff.

Work Shift:

9 am to 5:30 pm Monday through Friday including holidays.

Role And Responsibilities
  • Supervises and plans work of assigned staff.
  • Evaluates and monitors program services and operational efficiency.
  • May assist in the operation, management and planning of the organizational unit.
  • Provides assistance and problem resolution to staff, other agencies, and/or the general public.
  • Obtains and documents detailed information received concerning the alleged abuse, neglect, or exploitation of children.
  • Reviews intake reports, assesses the severity of the circumstances according to department policies and procedures, and assigns a priority classification.
  • Assesses intake reports for determination of priority, allegation type, and handling.
  • Provides and communicates policy information to the public, community organizations and referral services.
  • Relays reports of abuse and neglect to appropriate protective services field staff.
  • Documents and records information received from calls, referrals, and other related correspondence.
Core Competencies
  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite and/or standard software applications typically used in a corporate office environment.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university AND four (4) years of lead/supervisory experience in a customer service setting handling customers’ questions, complaints and/or providing information.
  • OR six (6) years of lead/supervisory worker experience in a customer service setting handling customers’ questions, complaints and/or providing information.
  • OR four (4) years of experience required at the lower-level Child Welfare Services Intake Specialist Supervisor or position equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Four (4) years’ experience working in Child Protective Services call center.
  • Knowledge of Child Protective Services programs.
