General Laborer

Overview

A restoration general laborer assists technicians with cleaning and repairing properties damaged by events like fire, water, or mold. Responsibilities include debris removal, setting up equipment like dehumidifiers, basic demolition (e.g., removing drywall), and cleaning/sanitizing affected areas. This role often requires physical fitness, a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to follow directions from supervisors.

• Debris removal and demolition: Assist with clearing and removing damaged materials like drywall, flooring, and other debris from the site.
• Equipment setup: Help set up and operate restoration equipment, such as water extractors, air movers, and dehumidifiers.
• Cleaning and sanitizing: Clean and sanitize affected areas and objects under the direction of a supervisor.
• Material handling: Load and unload materials and equipment for jobs.
• On-site support: Work with restoration technicians to perform tasks and complete assigned jobs, ensuring quality control.
• Documentation: Assist with documenting work performed, which may include taking photos.
• Safety: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols, including using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

• Physical ability: Be physically fit and able to perform manual labor tasks, including lifting and moving materials.
• Work ethic: Demonstrate reliability and a strong work ethic.
• Teamwork: Be a team-oriented individual with good communication skills.
• Willingness to learn: Be able to take direction from supervisors and learn new skills.
