Controls Group Technician I will be responsible for the installation, programming, and repair of building automation and energy management systems for commercial and industrial clients throughout the Atlanta, Georgia area.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Integration and programming of control systems and associated devices.
- Maintenance and repair of low voltage wiring, equipment, and devices.
- Installation of devices, cables, and troubleshooting of low voltage circuits.
- Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with all potential and existing customers; promptly address any customer concerns to ensure long‑term satisfaction.
- Travel within North and South Carolina as required (minimal overnight).
- Physically capable of carrying equipment, working on ladders, operating in uncomfortable weather, and standing for extended periods.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with company associates.
- Inform customers of arrival, departure, and return plans at job sites.
- Respond to all customer service requirements for internal and external customers.
- Provide sales and management with qualified leads.
- Plan, schedule, and communicate all work assignments to efficiently manage time and maximize productivity.
- Complete all required reporting and documentation in accordance with company policy and procedures.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including the Employee Handbook and Company Safety Policy & Procedures.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
- Minimum of 1 year of related work experience.
- Good understanding of commercial/industrial HVAC controls systems; ability to interpret HVAC mechanical plans and specifications related to Direct Digital Controls.
- Working knowledge of BACnet systems; experience with Distech Controls and Carrier Controls is a plus.
- Tridium AX or N4 Certification is highly preferred but not required.
- Ability to explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Strong team‑working skills, pride in workmanship, and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to climb ladders, lift and carry 50 or more pounds, distinguish colors for electrical work, and tolerate confined spaces.
- Work may involve heights, seasonal temperature extremes, dust, dirt, common allergens, refrigerants, or other potential hazards.
- Proper use of personal protection equipment (PPE) is required while performing tasks.
