Job Summary
The Construction Foreman will be the onsite manager of up to 10 HVAC Installation Technicians, overseeing their safety, daily progress, weekly progress, JHAs, spot inspections, and providing guidance, leadership, teaching, mentoring, and communication as needed. This role requires working closely with the client to deliver all projects within budget and on time, managing multiple concurrent projects for one or more commercial retail clients while maintaining all Foreman‑level responsibilities and collaborating with the assigned crew.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Accurately perform material takeoffs on a regular frequency.
- Maintain inventory of onsite material and equipment; keep the site neat and organized.
- Demonstrate high skill in reading and interpreting mechanical drawings.
- Understand scale and translate it to job‑site measurements to locate major installation start/end points.
- Fabricate sheet‑metal transitions and offsets “on the fly” to keep progress moving forward.
- Set and attain progress goals while being conscious of the overall labor budget.
- Demonstrate general knowledge of basic job costing (e.g., material cost differences at a chain store vs an actual vendor).
- Communicate effectively with staff and general contractor onsite representatives.
- Create daily progress reports with specific details and timely submission to project management.
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.

Desired Skills, Certifications, and Education- High level of knowledge in reading drawings, specifications, installation means and methods, and understanding the IECC, code enforcement, and safety.
- Minimum of 5 years of verifiable experience in the trade.
- Universal EPA, registration with TDLR, OSHA 10, First Aid, and CPR certifications are mandatory.
- A skill assessment will be administered to determine experience and knowledge; this will guide management for placement and training needs.
- This is a “hands‑on” foreman position; the position requires a working Foreman.
- Knowledge of all major components and installation methods for:
- RTUs, VAVs, Fan Powered Boxes, Fan Coils, Split Systems, Hydronic Systems, Chillers, Boilers, Piping, Valves, Ducting, Grilles, Registers and Diffusers, Louvers, Dampers, Fans, Fire Dampers & Hoods, Roof curbs and caps, Equipment supports and Stands, Condensate and Gas, Stand‑Alone Controls, Basic knowledge of BAS/BMS/BACnet Controls, Startups & Reporting, Balancing Refrigerant, VRF systems, Heaters, Air Handlers, HVLS Fans, Exhaust Systems, Line Sets, Insulation, Jacketing, Thermometers and Gauges, Filters and Filtration, Transitions and Offsets, Snaplock and Flex.
- Be an honest team player, growth‑oriented, and willing to do whatever it takes safely.
Regularly required to stand, walk, and lift or move up to 75 pounds. Noise level is usually high. All employees may be required to visit a customer site and/or complete a ride‑along with a field technician as part of their employment.
