Job Summary

Cox Fleet is currently hiring a Light/Medium Duty Automotive Technician to join our recently acquired company, Corcoran Fleet Services, to support our combined future growth. The Light/Medium Duty Automotive Technician will be responsible for performing Preventative Maintenance inspections, light and follow-up repairs, light mechanical/hydraulic/electrical and electronic diagnostics, licensed DOT inspections, and other duties as assigned at our customer locations.

The Light/Medium Duty Automotive Technician continues to learn additional advanced mechanical skills and diagnostic techniques. A successful Light/Medium Duty Automotive Technician complies with all company policies and achieves high level performance metrics.

Responsibilities
  • Work on various light/medium duty vehicles such as F150, F250, and F350, including some specialty equipment.
  • Travel is required 100% of the time. This position will service multiple customers in your area and around the state, depending on customer concentration.
  • Operate on a rotating schedule:
    Mon-Fri the first week and Mon-Sat the second week (Home every day).
  • This is a flat-rate position with abundance of work available.
  • Always follow and comply with safe operating practices and procedures.
  • Travel to and perform work at customer location, with most of the work performed outside.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs on light and medium vehicles in the field.
  • Perform routine maintenance such as changing oil, checking batteries, and lubricating equipment.
  • Use hand tools, precision instruments, as well as some diesel tools, lifts, and jacks.
  • Perform minor adjustments and repairs on various vehicle types, including electrical, braking, cooling systems, starters/alternators, engine electronics, transmissions, and related components.
  • Diagnose, adjust, and repair electrical components, air conditioning systems, and related subsystems.
  • Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments (scanners, pressure gauges).
  • Identify problems, determine accuracy and relevance of information, and evaluate alternatives.
  • Independently determine parts required for each job, order, and pick up parts for installation.
  • Perform all work in compliance with safety, health, environmental policies, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT).
  • Document work according to company standards and upload pictures of work performed, parts used, and findings on Repair Orders (RO) using company-provided cellphone and on paper.
  • Accurately complete DOT forms and other required documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment and assist in cleanup at day end for tools, parts, and equipment.
  • Apply knowledge from formal training or on-the-job experience to perform duties; work with, understand, and evaluate technical information.
  • Work with support team to assess customer needs and provide information or assistance to resolve problems and satisfy expectations.
  • Manage concurrent tasks, prioritizing work and time allocations effectively.
  • Act with integrity, demonstrate honesty, keep commitments, and maintain confidentiality per ethical and professional standards.
