About the Role

As a Sr QCS Service Technician , you will play a crucial role in maintaining and troubleshooting ABB’s pulp-and-paper quality control hardware and software at customer sites. Your expertise will ensure our systems run smoothly, and you’ll be the go-to person for preventive and corrective maintenance, customer service, and exciting projects like upgrades and new installations.

Your Responsibilities
  • Maintain Quality Control Systems: Keep ABB's suite of quality control hardware and software in top shape. This includes cleaning sensors, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical issues, and ensuring the entire system operates flawlessly.
  • Customer Engagement: Foster strong relationships with customers by addressing service-related issues and effectively communicating with plant operators, management, and vendors.
  • Troubleshooting Expertise: Use your technical knowledge to diagnose and repair equipment. While training on ABB products will be provided, a solid understanding of electrical theory and safety is essential.
  • Project Participation: Get involved in various projects, including upgrades and new installations, coordinating with teams to meet commitments.
What We’re Looking For
  • Education: An Associate's Degree in a related field with 8 years of relevant experience, or a High School Diploma with 10 years of experience.
  • Technical

    Skills:

    Proficiency in using electrical test equipment (like voltmeters) and a strong mechanical/electrical aptitude.
  • Hands-On

    Experience:

    Comfort with basic hand tools and the ability to diagnose electrical systems up to 240 VAC/870 VDC.
  • Reading

    Skills:

    Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings for troubleshooting.
Working Conditions

This position is onsite in Macon, GA, where you’ll be part of a high-performing team dedicated to excellence in the Process Automation Process Industries Pulp & Paper division.
