The Operations & Maintenance Specialist II is part of our Building Technologies & Solutions business at Johnson Controls. This person will be located out of Fulton County Jail, Atlanta Georgia.
Responsibilities- Service, repair, maintain, monitor and adjust HVAC systems to keep within allowable parameters.
- Perform a variety of service work, general maintenance and custodial activities, including carpentry, painting, plumbing, minor grounds keeping, and facility repairs to building systems, electrical fixtures, appliances, and equipment.
- Provide direction and training to less experienced O&M Specialists.
- Plan, select, and lay out required materials for service, repair and preventive maintenance work.
- Work from drawings, schematics, blueprints, job layouts or verbal instructions and operate a variety of tools and machines incidental to operations.
- Requisition new supplies and equipment.
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Participate in an on-call rotation schedule to attend to emergency situations at the facility.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures and adhere to company standards.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Requires a two-year technical degree or two years’ experience as an Operations & Maintenance Specialist II, or completion of an apprenticeship program.
- Requires five or more years’ experience in operations and maintenance.
- Requires in-depth knowledge of various maintenance fundamentals sufficient to deal with service and repairs.
- Must be physically able to perform basic maintenance tasks to the highest caliber, including the ability to climb ladders, work in confined spaces, and lift up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to work varying shifts, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Required to use a variety of hand and power tools or man lift.
- Basic Electrical system working knowledge.
- May be required to possess a valid driver’s license.
- Must be a team player committed to working in a quality environment.
- Must be able to pass a thorough background check and interview.
- Universal EPA Refrigeration Certification.
- Working knowledge of Metasys (BMS).
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $24.38-$30.48 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.) This position includes a competitive benefits package. The posted salary range reflects the target compensation for this role.
