Overview
AREA OF ASSIGNMENT: ELECTRICIAN LEAD
UNCLASSIFIED POSITION. THE CURRENT VACANCY IS IN THE REAL ESTATE & ASSET MANAGEMENT DEPARTMENT.
ResponsibilitiesThe essential functions include leading and coordinating daily work activities of the assigned crew, organizing tasks, monitoring progress, and providing technical guidance. Act as the Trades Supervisor in the supervisor's absence. Complete daily facility maintenance tasks (carpentry, welding, HVAC, electrical, plumbing). Install, test, and report on equipment functionality; assist with training co-workers; supervise and evaluate staff performance. Inspect systems and perform preventative maintenance.
Maintain and secure team equipment and act as safety monitor on job sites. Ensure all work is completed properly and timely; document work orders with details of work performed and materials used.
Additional duties include collecting quotes from outside vendors, possible use of large equipment (e.g., bucket lift), on-call work as needed, and may make equipment procurement recommendations.
QualificationsMinimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED equivalent; and three (3) years of electrical trade experience including one (1) year of lead or supervisory experience, or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
Specific License or Certification
Required:
Must possess and maintain a valid Georgia driver's license. A State of Georgia license as an Electrical Contractor is preferred (as required by assigned duties).
Specific Knowledge, Skills, or Abilities:
Ability to read and understand blueprints, diagrams, and schematics; demonstrate proficiency in essential functions; learn and apply county or departmental policies and procedures.
