As a Mobile Diesel Mechanic/Technician
, you ll be the expert our customers rely on to keep their fleets on the road. This field-based role is ideal for skilled technicians who enjoy independence and variety. You ll perform preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers, including emergency roadside service when needed. Schedule: On-Call 24/7
Where You ll Make an Impact- Perform onsite preventative maintenance, DOT inspections and follow-up repairs on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers in a mobile field environment.
- Handle emergency road service calls with confidence and urgency.
- Respond to dispatch requests for scheduled and unscheduled service or maintenance.
- Diagnose and repair electrical, brake, cooling, and air systems — keeping a fleet running strong.
- Use advanced diagnostic tools, including handheld computers and precision instruments, to identify and fix issues quickly.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment to complete work correctly.
- Road test vehicles to ensure repairs meet top-quality standards.
- Stay productive and efficient, meeting or beating industry-standard repair times.
- Work with trusted vendors to source parts and keep operations moving.
- Take ownership of a company-issued service truck, perform maintenance and pre- and post-trip inspections, and ensure safety compliance.
- Collaborate with the team; we support each other.
- At least 3 years of hands-on diesel tech experience working on Class 6-8 trucks and trailers.
- DOT inspection and air brake repair expertise that keeps fleets rolling safely.
- Strong communication skills for connecting with customers and drivers alike.
- Comfortable using mobile apps, navigation systems and digital tools to stay organized and document repairs.
- Ready for the outdoors — rain or shine at customer yards.
- Independent, dependable, and self-motivated — you take pride in getting the job done right.
- A positive attitude and safety-first mindset.
- Must be 23+ with a clean driving record and a valid driver s license.
- Bring your own hand tools and we ll supply everything else.
- Work in dynamic, high-traffic areas where safety and precision are key.
- Exposure to dust, diesel fumes, and noise typical of a shop or yard environment.
- Safely handle chemicals, oils, and grease as part of repair work.
- Be ready to lift, move, and position heavy equipment or components.
- Stay active; you ll bend, kneel, crawl, and crouch to access vehicle components.
- Work outdoors in all weather conditions.
