Job
OverviewFood Service Equipment Tech responsible for maintaining, modifying, troubleshooting, and repairing commercial food service equipment for Georgia Tech Dining.
Job SummaryResponsible for performing various functions to keep Georgia Tech's dining program commercial kitchens running smoothly. Primarily responsible for maintaining, modifying, troubleshooting, and repairing a large inventory of electric, gas, and refrigeration commercial food service equipment and appliances. This position interacts regularly with staff and vendors associated with Tech Dining, advises dining staff and facilities personnel, and does not supervise others.
Responsibilities- Perform preventative maintenance on food service and refrigeration equipment as well as scheduled predictive maintenance checks following manufacturers' recommendation and/or as assigned by the supervisor.
- Carry out installations of new equipment
. - Perform repairs and maintenance duties on a wide variety of food service and refrigeration equipment such as walk‑in freezers, industrial‑sized steam cookers, refrigerators, ice machines, dishwashers, fryers, stoves, ovens, and grills.
- Carry out periodic inspection, cleaning, and equipment servicing
. - Interpret equipment manuals for proper training, care, and maintenance of equipment
. - Attend quickly to emergency calls on equipment repair issues, as well as to after‑hour work calls
. - Perform other related duties as assigned

- Educational Requirements: High School Diploma/GED or Vocational School Diploma.
- Required Experience: Three to four years of job‑related experience.
- Additional
Preferred Qualifications:
Current Serv Safe Certification. - Preferred Experience: Three or more years of job‑related experience.
$17.98 - $24.45 per hour.
Abilities- Knowledge: Basic knowledge of refrigeration equipment, commercial ovens, commercial dishwashers, and commercial ice machines.
- Skills: Ability to read instruction manuals for specialty equipment and apply instructions to equipment on hand.
