Job Title:

Facilities Electrician Job Description

As a Facilities Electrician, you will be responsible for conducting general electrical repair work and troubleshooting. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, installation services, and construction work in accordance with organizational and national safety and fire codes. You will read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings to complete work assignments and install new electrical systems, fixtures, equipment, wiring, and circuits.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct general electrical repair work and troubleshooting.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and installation services.
  • Read and interpret blueprints and schematic drawings.
  • Install new electrical systems, fixtures, equipment, wiring, and circuits.
  • Repair and maintain fire alarms as needed.
  • Record kilowatt hour readings from monthly meter inspections.
  • Follow OSHA standards and other applicable regulations for safety.
  • Utilize personal protective equipment when necessary.
  • Order and obtain materials and equipment for project completion.
  • Use electrical trade tools and test equipment.
  • Ensure proper maintenance and safeguarding of materials and tools.
  • Troubleshoot and repair fixtures and components of electrical systems.
  • Perform visual inspections and repair faulty electrical equipment.
  • Drive utility vehicles to and from work sites, ensuring their safety and maintenance.
Essential Skills
  • 5 years of experience as a commercial or industrial electrician.
  • Proficiency in working with 480v, 208v, 120v, and 110v systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and electrical schematics.
  • Knowledge of electrical theory and wiring.
  • Experience with troubleshooting, conduit, generators, and switches.
Additional

Skills & Qualifications
  • Experience in building and facility maintenance.
  • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Ability to pass an MVR.

Work Environment

Work in various facilities, both indoors and outdoors, including some heights. The work is spread across nearly 200 buildings split into 7 zones, each managed by a zone supervisor. Shifts include 1st shift (6:30 am - 3 pm, Monday-Friday), Swing Shift (one day shift, two evening shifts, and two night shifts per week), and 3rd shift (12 am - 8:30 am, Monday-Friday).

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $36.00/hr.
