Journeyman Industrial Controls Electrician
Precision Wire & Control (PWC) is seeking a Journeyman-level Light Industrial Controls Electrician to support active, high-pace industrial and airport projects in the Atlanta market. This role is for electricians who are confident working independently, take pride in clean and compliant work, and understand the realities of live construction environments.
This position focuses on the hands-on electrical work required to support industrial automation and controls systems
. You will be responsible for installing, modifying, troubleshooting, and maintaining electrical infrastructure that supports automation, controls, and field integration teams.
This is a field-based, physical role — not a desk position. Work may occur during early mornings, nights, or weekends depending on site access windows.
This is a full-time, hourly role and will require frequent travel (up to 90%). Candidates must live within commuting distance of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport

- Install, modify, troubleshoot, and maintain electrical systems in industrial and commercial environments
- Perform electrical work in support of industrial automation and control system integration
- Read, interpret, and work from electrical drawings, prints, and layouts
- Pull wire, bend and install conduit (EMT, RMC, PVC, etc.)
- Perform layout and planning according to drawings, blueprints, and electrical code requirements
- Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate diagnostic tools and techniques
- Replace or repair faulty wiring, breakers, switches, lighting, and related components
- Support safe demolition and removal of electrical infrastructure when required
- Operate power tools, lifts, ladders, and other jobsite equipment safely
- Maintain clean, organized, and inspection-ready work areas
- Coordinate work with other trades, supervisors, and project managers
- Follow all safety protocols, NEC requirements, and company standards
- Represent PWC professionally while working in secure and high-visibility environments, including airports
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum of 4 years of hands-on electrical construction experience
- Strong working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC)
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Proficient with electrical tools, meters, and testing equipment
- Must supply a standard set of electrical tools (including drills, impacts, pliers, meters, screwdrivers, etc.)
- OSHA 10 certification (minimum)
- Strong communication skills and ability to follow direction clearly
- Ability to work in physically demanding environments, including:
- Lifting up to 50 lbs regularly
- Working overhead, in confined spaces, and at elevation
- Standing, bending, kneeling for extended periods
- Working in hot, cold, noisy, or active construction environments
- Comfortable working on ladders, lifts, stairs, and elevated platforms
- Experience working in airports, large industrial facilities, or commercial environments
- Familiarity supporting electrical work tied to automation or controls systems
- Basic exposure to PLC-related electrical work (no programming required)
- Formal electrical or technical education
