Commercial HVAC Technician
Warner Bros. Discovery is looking for a Commercial HVAC Technician to test, repair, and install mechanical systems and equipment safely and efficiently. The technician will perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on a wide range of components, ensuring proper function, performance, and reliability.
Key responsibilities include service on Data Center systems, Chillers, Studios, TGR rooms, fire safety equipment, air compressors, cooling towers, intake and exhaust fans, and other critical mechanical infrastructure. The position supports 24/7/365 operations across the WB campus and designated off‑site locations. Flexibility and shift availability are required.
Your Role Accountabilities- Monitor 5,000‑ton central cooling / chilled water distribution plant and critical space (data center) operation across 12 buildings and 1.5M s/f of commercial production space; specifically, chillers, pumps, cooling towers, make‑up water stations and controls.
- Maintain and operate commercial comfort cooling and critical application HVAC units (AHU, FCU, VAV, FPV, CRAH, CRAC units).
- Diagnose and resolve issues with boilers, pumps, electrical systems, air handlers, air compressors, exhaust fans, Liebert units, and related mechanical components.
- Conduct preventive maintenance on mechanical systems per established schedules to maximize uptime and extend equipment life (e.g., filter change, lubrication, line flushing, coil cleaning).
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned by management or HVAC lead to support facility needs.
- Minimum 5 years working in a commercial chilled water plant and distribution environment; critical cooling (data center) equipment and applications experience is a plus.
- EPA universal or Type II certification (required).
- Apprenticeship or vocational school (preferred).
- Experience with direct expansion, indirect expansion, operation of chillers and condenser water loops via VFD control, cooling towers, make‑up water operations, electrical troubleshooting at the control level, AHU, VAV and CRAC/CRAH units.
- Valid driver’s license.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Familiarity with digital platforms such as MS Office and HVAC control systems (Niagara/Tridium, Johnson Controls, Honeywell, etc.).
- Stationary Engineer certification (preferred).
- Boiler Operator certification (preferred).
- Warm air license (preferred).
