Scope

The Victaulic tool team is searching for a Field Tool Technician to join our Application Engineering organization. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute your technical knowledge, communication, and problem‑solving skills to provide on‑site tool support, maintenance and consulting services at customer facilities across various locations.

The expectation for this position is that the candidate has working knowledge of tool maintenance, repair procedures, and customer service operations. The successful candidate will be exposed to company processes, products, and industry standards and codes. This role requires up to 80% travel to customer sites across the Southeast states (FL, GA, AL, TN, SC, NC, etc).

Responsibilities
  • Train customer personnel on proper tool operation, maintenance procedures, and safety protocols
  • Independently coordinate and schedule customer visits based on availability and customer requirements
    • Maintain relationships with independent customers supported
  • Provide onsite consulting services to the customer regarding tool operation and shop setup to maximize productivity of tool
  • Provide on‑site tool support and maintenance services at customer facilities by
    • Learning and understanding the company's line of tools, equipment, and specialized instruments used at customer locations
  • Conduct troubleshooting, repairs, and preventive maintenance on customer tools and equipment to ensure optimal functionality and minimize downtime
  • Respond to customer service calls for tool malfunctions, providing expert diagnosis and repair solutions at customer facilities
  • Perform on‑site calibration, testing, and commissioning of newly installed tools and equipment at customer locations
  • Conduct warranty evaluations and repairs of company tools and equipment at customer sites, ensuring minimal disruption to customer operations
  • Maintain customer tool inventories and service records; prepare detailed service reports and recommendations for customers
  • Maintain professional customer relationships and provide technical consultation on tool applications and best practices
  • Follow all company safety requirements, procedures, and participate in safety reviews
Qualifications
  • Associate and technical degree preferred, 3+ years of field service or equipment maintenance experience required
  • Proficient in diagnostic software, equipment management systems and computerized maintenance programs preferred
  • Mechanical aptitude and high organizational skills
  • Proficient in reading technical manuals, schematics, shop math, and precision instrument reading
  • Capable of performing all field service functions including equipment setup, maintenance, and repair
  • Capable of taking verbal and written instructions, working independently at customer sites, and providing excellent customer service
  • Capable of lifting within OSHA‑approved safe lifting limits and working at heights, in confined spaces, and various…
