Position Summary

Oversees shift-level security operations at airport or government facilities by supervising and supporting personnel, responding to emergencies and incidents, and ensuring compliance with client and organizational policies.

Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate thorough knowledge of all posts and proven ability to lead Security personnel.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Verbally intervene during crisis, quickly assessing situations, developing rapport with upset people, and providing supportive or directive responses as needed.
  • Escort persons and assist client personnel.
  • Ensure Security Officers remain alert and vigilant for activities that could result in injury or property loss.
  • Write and administer performance appraisals.
  • Communicate effectively with diverse people including clients, client employees, visitors, and vendors.
  • Comprehend and execute written or verbal instructions.
  • Write accurate, clear, and legible reports via electronic device.
  • Maintain positive relationships with co‑workers, client staff, and vendors.
  • Maintain functional knowledge of a facility and, where applicable, of multiple facilities.
  • Enforce all policies and guidelines of the client and Tarian.
  • Perform other duties as directed by the Security leader and/or other recognized leadership personnel.
  • May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Must be twenty‑one (21) years of age or older.
  • US Citizenship is required.
  • High School Diploma or General Equivalency.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Aviation Management, Security Management, Law Enforcement, or a closely related field is preferable.
  • Two (2) years of site‑specific experience at DEN, a TSR 1542 regulated airport, or as approved by the Contract Manager in security, loss prevention, or law enforcement. Prior management and/or supervisory experience may substitute the required experience at the discretion of the Contract Security Manager.
  • Valid driver's license with a clear driving record is preferred.
  • In-depth knowledge of site‑specific Post Orders; act as a mature, responsible leader and training resource for Security Officers.
  • Excellent customer service skills, strong verbal communication, and a high attention to detail.
  • Physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of performing all duties defined in this job description.
  • In good physical health and capable of performing normal or emergency duties requiring moderate to arduous exertion (standing, walking, climbing stairs, running, self‑defense). Must be able to lift up to 25 lb, lift children, and assist in building evacuations.
  • Obtain and maintain any applicable jurisdictional security licenses or certifications as required.
  • Complete all training and pass all competency tasks within the allotted time, including Tarian and client orientation and security procedures.
  • Work and interact with a variety of people, including Tarian employees, client staff, visitors, and the public.
  • Read, write, speak, and comprehend English proficiently; write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Maintain regular attendance in accordance with Tarian attendance policy.
  • Other duties as assigned.
