About Layr

Layr is an Atlanta-based, rapidly growing Insurtech dedicated to enabling commercial insurance brokerages to serve their clients better. We are currently working with dozens of brokerages, many in the Top 100, supporting their SBUs and being an enabler for growth. With deep insurance knowledge, insight, and experience, we tirelessly improve and distribute our new, more effective insurance technology to the small‑business market.

Our vibrant team of forward‑thinkers is passionate about innovation, obsessed with technology, and committed to building a collaborative, action‑oriented, integrity‑instilled, close‑knit, diverse and inclusive, nationwide team.

Layr has raised venture capital to combine innovative, cutting‑edge technology with commercial insurance industry expertise and is rapidly expanding across the country. Small‑business insurance is a $120‑billion market that remains undersold in the US. We are digitizing and automating this space with our client‑first platform. To keep innovating and moving forward, we need smart, gritty, outside‑the‑box thinkers (like you!).

As a Sales Executive at Layr, you will play a pivotal role in expanding our network of Top‑100 brokerage partners, insurance aggregators, and driving adoption of the Layr platform. You’ll connect with brokerage leaders to understand their business challenges and demonstrate how Layr transforms small‑business units into scalable, profitable engines for growth. Working cross‑functionally with our operations and product teams, you’ll ensure each new partner experiences measurable improvement in efficiency, profitability, and client satisfaction through successful rollout of the Layr platform.

Brokerages choose to work with Layr for three key reasons: profitability, operational relief, and M&A support. We lift margins by automating servicing tasks and driving policyholder self‑service adoption, reduce workload to focus on higher‑value accounts, and accelerate integration of acquired books, making them organized, serviceable, and profitable faster than traditional approaches. By combining advanced automation with licensed support, Layr empowers brokerages to modernize operations, deepen client relationships, and unlock capacity to scale.

Responsibilities
  • Identify and develop partnerships with brokerages seeking to outsource or modernize small‑commercial servicing with the Layr platform.
  • Leverage Hub Spot CRM to manage and track lead interactions and pipeline progress.
  • Execute outbound prospecting campaigns using Linked In messaging to engage key decision‑makers.
  • Own the entire sales process: prospecting, closing, implementation support, and handoff to partner success and customer support.
  • Conduct thorough research to understand prospects’ business needs and challenges.
  • Qualify leads based on predefined criteria and schedule meetings or demos for the sales team.
  • Collaborate closely with sales and marketing teams to optimize lead generation strategies and campaigns.
  • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of lead interactions and status in CRM systems.
  • Close new logos driving tens of millions of dollars in net premium growth.
  • Continuously learn and stay updated on industry trends, competitors, and market conditions.
Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven experience as a Business Development Representative or similar B2B role.
  • Exceptional ability to build and maintain relationships with key decision‑makers within insurance brokerages.
  • Deep understanding of insurance brokerage operations.
  • Ability to effectively communicate Layr’s value proposition impacting brokerages’ KPIs.
  • In-depth knowledge and proficiency in using Hub Spot CRM and Linked In messaging tools.
  • Strong understanding of sales methodologies and lead qualification processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a persuasive and confident approach.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field preferred.
  • Collaborative and supportive team environment focused on achieving company goals.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to deliver timely results.
  • Self‑starter who thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership, and constantly looks for ways to improve outcomes for partners and teammates.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary and commission structure based on performance
    • Fully ramped Sales Executives earn $300k+ in OTE
