Sales Manager

Overview

We're looking for an active, customer-focused team player with exceptional sales skills to be the next sales manager at our busy hotel. You'll be in charge of developing a sales and marketing plan that includes soliciting new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue targets via outside sales calls, on-site visits, sales tours, and community networking. This energetic salesperson will be able to enhance revenue by researching local market trends and competition behavior to discover and close business leads.

• Plan and compile the department budget in accordance with the hotel's overall sales objectives and strategy, with the assistance of the director of sales and marketing
• Identify new business leads by examining local market trends and competition activities
• Develop and maintain connections with important group and catering accounts in order to maintain and expand our market share
• Conduct yourself as a professional representative of the hotel at various industry trade shows, conferences, and adhere to the guidelines of the budget and marketing plan
• Solicit new and existing accounts to meet and exceed revenue targets through outside sales calls, on-site visits and sales tours, and networking in the local community

• Stays organized and manage time well
• This position requires previous work experience in a hospitality role
• Must possess a high school diploma or GED and a bachelor’s degree in business or a similar major is desired
• Understands how to communicate, negotiate, and network effectively
• 2 or more years of hotel sales experience
