Director of Business Development
Black Rock Resources LLC is seeking a Director of Business Development to support its industrial design-build and EPC services across the United States. This role focuses on identifying, developing, and securing new business opportunities within the manufacturing sector, expanding market presence, building long‑term client relationships, and enhancing our reputation for quality, technical excellence, and delivery certainty.
Responsibilities- Lead new client acquisition efforts for industrial manufacturing projects, including automotive, food and beverage, data centers, pharmaceutical, electric vehicle (EV), battery, and advanced manufacturing facilities.
- Develop and execute business development strategies aligned with long‑term growth objectives and market expansion goals.
- Identify and pursue new market sectors, geographic opportunities, and strategic client relationships nationwide.
- Own the full sales lifecycle from initial client engagement through contract award, including opportunity qualification, pursuit planning, proposal strategy, and client presentations.
- Collaborate closely with preconstruction, engineering, estimating, and operations teams to develop competitive design‑build and EPC solutions tailored to client needs.
- Maintain a strong understanding of industrial manufacturing processes, facility requirements, and equipment coordination to effectively engage with technical and executive client stakeholders.
- Build and sustain long‑term strategic account relationships, serving as a trusted advisor to clients throughout the project development process.
- Track and manage a robust business development pipeline, ensuring alignment with revenue targets and strategic priorities.
- Partner with other subsidiaries in North America to create synergies for winning new work.
- Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and client meetings to enhance market visibility and brand recognition.
- Support leadership with market intelligence, competitive analysis, and feedback on client trends and industry developments.
- Achieve assigned annual and multi‑year revenue targets.
- Maintain defined hit rate and win rate metrics for pursued opportunities.
- Demonstrate consistent pipeline development aligned with strategic growth objectives.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business, or a related field required; advanced degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of business development or related experience in industrial construction, design‑build, or EPC environments.
- Proven success securing large, complex manufacturing projects in competitive markets.
- Strong working knowledge of design‑build delivery, EPC contracting, fast‑track project execution, GMP structures, and cost modeling.
- Ability to engage credibly with both technical and executive‑level client stakeholders.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Willingness to travel nationally as required to support client and market development activities.
- Experience using CRM software for tracking current and potential customers.
