The 24-month, Atlanta, GA based Technical Sales Development Program (TSDP) will prepare you for a successful career in technical sales as an Account Manager (AM) or in sales engineering as a Sales Engineer (SE).
Responsibilities- Serve as an Account Manager (AM) or Sales Engineer (SE) during the program and develop the skills to advance into the respective role after training.
- Account Manager: build trusted partnerships with current customers, identify new business opportunities, and communicate effectively to drive results.
- Sales Engineer: act as the technical bridge to customers, design networks, drive sales profitability within current accounts, and develop strategies to win new business by owning the prime technical relationship.
- Participate in classroom-based and hands-on training with mentoring, coaching, and networking with engineers, architects, and other professionals enterprise-wide.
- Learn to prospect for new business, solve problems, and deliver excellent customer service.
- Deep dive into Ciena’s product portfolios, organization, customer landscape, network and engineering design, end-to-end sales cycle, and key groups (Field Service, Technical Support, Professional Services, Program Management).
- At program conclusion, relocation to one of Ciena’s nationwide markets may be requested.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Business

Prior technical and/or sales co-op/work experience
The annual pay for this position is: $74,000 + 25% Target Commission. Pay ranges reflect knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations.
