Sales Representative – Southway Crane & Rigging

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Reports to: Branch Manager

Eligibility: Local candidates only.

Summary

The Sales Representative will be assigned to a specific sales territory, maintain current customer accounts, develop new accounts, and represent SWY Crane & Rigging and its family of companies for the purpose of obtaining orders for commercial construction crane and rigging services. The role focuses on developing and penetrating new clients to establish long-term relationships and achieve a revenue stream of $2+ million per year.

Qualifications
  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • College or technical school degree preferred, and/or relevant years of experience in lieu of degree.
  • 3-7 years of commercial construction sales preferred.
  • 3-7 years of crane operations and proper rigging techniques preferred.
  • Ability to determine the appropriate crane for a task, prepare quotes, and coordinate with the dispatch office.
  • Perform all responsibilities safely, legally, professionally, and ethically.
Responsibilities
  • Attain assigned territory sales objectives through territory management, planning, and development.
  • Establish a client base that will support a $2+ million/year revenue stream.
  • Perform personal and telephone sales solicitation in the assigned territory.
  • Prepare quotes and coordinate with the Dispatch office.
  • Read, interpret, and determine that an assigned crane can perform the lift using the manufacturer’s load charts.
  • Verbally communicate safety issues to customers and internal workers.
  • Administer reporting.
  • Comply with all applicable safety and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Prepare and present quotes, and close sales.
  • Manage deadlines and prioritize workload without direct supervision.
  • Handle rejection professionally.
  • Maintain exclusive account management for assigned customers, establishing account strategies and maintaining relationships.
  • Other responsibilities as required.
Working Conditions
  • Non-smoking environment at times.
  • Potential exposure to outside weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow, ice).
  • May be assigned irregular working hours and standby hours.
  • Potential exposure to mechanical, electrical, explosive, fumes/odors, dust, chemical, or toxic waste hazards.
  • Required use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in hazardous areas.
  • Potential out-of-town overnight stays in hotels when needed.
Accountability
  • Be punctual and available for job duties.
  • Display strong customer relations and communication skills with external and internal customers.
  • Cooperate with others in a team environment for training and operational issues.
  • Submit reports and paperwork on a regular and timely basis.
  • Maintain an insurable driving record for company vehicles and any other required licenses.
Requirements
  • Experience in sales with a track record of performance.
  • Experience in the operated crane industry.
  • Experience in marketing strategies and analyzing trends.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Overnight travel required.
