The Sales Teammate position's primary responsibility is to fulfill our mission statement: “To create the most enjoyable shopping experience possible for our Guests.” Sales Teammates perform a variety of sales, merchandising and operational tasks as assigned by Store Management, including cashiering, merchandise display and pulls, register procedures, and routine cleaning of facilities.

• Greet Guests with a friendly, engaging attitude, and provide legendary service to each Guest.
• Answer questions regarding the store and its merchandise.
• Recommend, select, and help locate or obtain merchandise based on Guest needs and desires.
• Anticipate and fulfill Guest’s needs by suggesting additional items and creating a wardrobing experience.
• Demonstrate product knowledge and sales education, sharing knowledge with the Team.
• Maintain knowledge of current sales and promotions, payment and exchange policies, and security practices.
• Maintain personal sales and look for opportunities to improve presentations using the Sales Presentation Guide (SPG).
• Achieve personal sales-per-hour, average sales and total net sales goals set by Store Management.
• Provide legendary service across Front 5, sales floor, fitting rooms, and the register area.
• Help Guests try on or fit merchandise and check out and bag purchases.
• Prepare merchandise for alterations and handle exchanges/returns per policy.
• Utilize SPG daily to accomplish goals and meet Buckle's customer service expectations.
• Build and maintain guest relationships to develop a client-based business.
• Understand and apply Buckle’s customer service expectations to meet Guest needs.
• Consistently perform leadership actions and maintain high standards, whether or not the Manager is present.

• Recognize recruiting opportunities using Jobs & Careers cards, referrals, and teammate recommendations.
• Create relationships through Guest Loyalty and Guest Preferred programs.
• Maintain a professional, respectful attitude to foster a positive floor culture.

• Present merchandise to maximize sales and merchandise turnover.
• Stay current on product range and seek feedback on product improvements and ideas.
• Ensure the sales floor is consistently sized and new freight is appropriately displayed.

• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, weekends, and peak holiday days, based on store and business needs.
• Open and close cash registers, balance cash drawers, and process payments and transactions.
• Monitor for security risks and follow Loss Prevention guidelines, including bag checks where applicable.
• Perform merchandising tasks, handle freight, re-merchandise, and complete price markdowns and transfers.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and shoppable store and provide feedback to management on merchandise handling concerns.
• Communicate policy violations or guest or teammate concerns promptly and confidentially.
• Understand and apply Buckle’s Code of Ethics and all policies, procedures, and handbooks.
• Fulfill the mission statement by delivering high levels of customer service and contributing to a positive team spirit.
• Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
