Public Health Analyst – clearance required:

Alpha Omega is seeking a Public Health Analyst to support CDC’s National Center for HIV/AIDS, Viral Hepatitis, STD, and TB Prevention. The Analyst will manage data, perform advanced statistical analysis, and develop scientific reports to monitor the HIV epidemic.
Responsibilities- Prepare national, state, and dependent area data for the Annual Atlas Plus update using advanced SAS programming.
- Provide statistical, methodological, and epidemiological support for CDC in syndromic surveillance and epidemiology.
- Develop analysis plans for epidemiologic studies and conduct data analysis using national or site-specific data sets.
- Perform statistical analysis (descriptive, predictive, regression modeling) to develop scientific-technical reports or manuscripts.
- Contribute to and edit publications and technical reports, including literature reviews, methodology, and analysis plans.
- Rapidly respond within 48‑ to 72‑hours to CDC requests for data analyses.
- Conduct research, comprehensive literature reviews, and data analysis to determine best practices for maintaining, updating, enhancing, or implementing syndromic methodologies.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Biostatistics or a related field and at least 3 years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree and equivalent experience.
- Understanding of security protocols for accessing government systems.
- Advanced SAS programming skills (certification preferred) and GIS geocoding; minimum 2 years’ experience.
- Ability to analyze data using advanced statistical methods.
- Data cleansing and data aggregation experience required.
- Proficient in SAS, SQL, and large database querying.
- Strong technical skills including report development, data management, scientific programming, and analytical software knowledge.
