Description
We are seeking a highly motivated individual for the position of Post Doctoral Fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Bhavya Doshi. The Doshi Laboratory investigates processes that drive alloantibody and anti-drug antibody responses in gene and protein-based therapies, with emphasis on hemophilia. Hemophilias are X-linked bleeding disorders from defects in coagulation factor VIII or IX. Treatments include prophylactic infusions or non-factor therapeutics;
a major complication is the development of neutralizing alloantibodies (inhibitors) in up to 30% of patients. The Doshi lab aims to understand enhanced immune responses to factor VIII to enable targeted therapeutic development, and also works on gene transfer for hemophilia and immune responses to adeno-associated viral vectors.
Position Summary
The postdoctoral fellow will hold a terminal degree (e.g., PhD, MD, MD-PhD) and, under the direction of a mentor (Bhavya Doshi), assume responsibility for a specific, on-going research project. The fellow will conduct independent scholarly research, contribute to the project and the research group, participate in project planning, data recording and interpretation, and communicate results. The fellow will acquire technical, lab management, and manuscript/grant writing skills;
participate in seminars, lectures, poster sessions and presentations at national meetings; and may supervise junior lab members and assist with new methods and protocols.

• Participate in seminars, lectures, poster sessions, and presentations at national meetings.
• May supervise junior lab members and assist with development of other research projects in the lab.

Qualifications
• A doctoral degree or equivalent (Ph.D., M.D., ScD., D.V.M., DDS, etc.).
• Excellent scientific writing ability and strong oral communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively and collegially with colleagues.
• Additional qualifications as specified by the Principal Investigator.
