TEMP-Lab​/Research Support - Sponberg Lab KH

Job Summary

The tech temp will conduct electrophysiological, biomechanical, and behavioral experiments in the Agile Systems Lab using invertebrates. The tech will collect and analyze experimental data; assist in invertebrate animal handling and maintenance of the experiment rig room, equipment, and computer code. They will help the PI with lab ordering and maintenance, and facilitate a multi‑university research team by providing logistic and developmental support.

• Setup, operate and maintain instruments and other equipment used in performing lab tests and experiments.
• Order supplies and materials as required; maintain records.
• Setup laboratory media/equipment for demonstrations.
• Clean instruments, glassware, and other lab equipment.
• Prepare and process laboratory samples for use in assigned tests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• High school diploma, GED Certificate, or Vocational School Diploma.
• Up to two years of job‑related experience.

Working knowledge of instrumentation and other lab equipment, laboratory processes and procedures specific to the assigned lab. Skills in inventory management and the use of specialized computer applications are required.
