THE POSITION

Fan Duel is looking for an experienced Quality Analyst with a deep understanding of Quality in the Software Development Life Cycle. Quality at Fan Duel is a community effort and as an advocate of Quality, you will work with various teams to promote best practices and processes that will deliver the best experience for our customers. You will contribute to Quality by influencing the testing process that suits a project’s need and enabling the engineering team to be active participants in that process.

You will use your experience to help implement testing strategies, approaches, and coordinate a team-wide approach towards Quality. Your innovation will be fostered in a culture that constantly seeks to improve and originate new ideas that aim to make software testing easier and more efficient.

In addition to the specific responsibilities outlined above, employees may be required to perform other such duties as assigned by the company. This ensures operational flexibility and allows the company to meet evolving business needs.

THE GAME PLAN
  • Quickly come up to speed on Fan Duel Sports book and how it relates to other product lines.
  • Work with engineering teams to determine best test strategies (e.g., direct testing, testing reviews and coaching, identify any automation that may be relevant to run).
  • Enable engineering teams to self‑serve as much as possible.
  • Constantly strive for more efficient and effective quality procedures, including analyzing trends around defects and feature areas.
  • Be an advocate for Quality through analyzing risks, test planning, test tracking, and test run results.
  • Contribute to test cases and documentation.
  • Participate in testing moderately complex or high‑risk software developments.
  • Communicate test strategy and progress to various stakeholders (e.g., engineering managers, engineers, product managers, and product owners).
  • Work with the wider Quality Engineering org to improve services offerings to engineering in order to facilitate ease and speed of testing.
  • Identify areas of improvement as they relate to Software Quality (e.g., new automation and testing strategies to add to backlog).
  • Work with team to assess code coverage by both automated and manual run tests.

  • Ability to prioritize test conditions and features to be tested.
  • Experience with mobile and native app testing with a working knowledge of underlying technologies and how they interact.
  • Experience with testing the API layer through either manual or automated calls; experience with Postman preferred.
  • Manage testing process for small to medium‑sized projects, including providing status through meetings and/or Jira or similar tool.
  • Experience working in an environment where test automation is utilized, with conceptual understanding of automation testing techniques (frontend, backend, contract, API).
  • Familiarity or interest in learning how AI tools can be leveraged to enhance testing processes is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and mobile release tooling (e.g., Runway, Expo, Buildkite, Git Hub Actions, Jenkins), including triggering builds for specific PRs and downloading builds for on‑device testing.
