Aerospace Inspection Manager

1st Shift, Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Responsibilities- Direct activities and manage experienced Quality Inspection professionals in the execution of inspection tasks to ensure adherence to established department, organization and customer specification parameters.
- Lead the development of inspection plans and manage inspection workloads to ensure effective use of resources.
- Manage the maintenance of inspection logs and prepare technical reports and presentations to document results so performance problems can be identified and resolved.
- Determine appropriate methods and sequences to be used so the process is efficient and effective.
- Deliver feedback on quality issues from inspection to fields and monitor results to ensure continuous improvement and quality achievement.
- Coach inspection specialists and technicians to ensure employee development meets organization needs.
- Use predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to inspect arriving, in-process, and completed products for conformance to engineering requirements.
- Use a variety of measuring devices, testing equipment, and visual inspection methods.
- Perform in-process, final bench, and product feature inspections.
- Inspect actual products both on and off-line.
- Perform First Article Inspections (FIA) and conformity inspections.
- Raise notifications of non-conformance, quarantine non-conforming product, and, when approved, provide disposition.
- Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of relevant experience or 6 years of relevant experience required.
- Work to AS / ISO standards.
- Manage maintenance of equipment including calibration, inspection, cleaning, Software/Hardware updates, vendor engagement, etc.
- Identify and recommend creative ways to enhance existing task training.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- FAA, QMS-Audit (AS9100), PPAP experience.
- Customer facing experience.
- Experience with SAP.
