Position OverviewKennel Assistants play a critical role in the daily care and comfort of boarding and hospitalized pets. You’ll work closely with our medical team to ensure animals are safe, clean, exercised, and monitored throughout their stay.
Key Responsibilities- Safely handle and restrain cats and dogs
- Feed and water patients according to instructions
- Walk and exercise dogs as scheduled
- Clean and sanitize kennels, cages, runs, and hospital facilities
- Perform laundry duties and maintain cleanliness throughout the hospital
- Restock supplies and monitor inventory levels
- Observe and monitor animal behavior and report concerns to medical staff
- Administer medications as directed
- Assist veterinary technicians and doctors with patient care and handling
- Support a clean, organized, and efficient hospital environment
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience handling cats and dogs preferred
- Compassionate, reliable, and comfortable working with animals of all sizes
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to help where needed
- Ability to work a full-time schedule, including occasional weekends or holidays as needed
- Pay range: $14–$16 per hour
