7:30am - 4:00pm / Full-Time / 40 Hours
We are seeking an RN Clinician Charge with a strong background in wound, ostomy, and continence (WOC) care. Preferred qualifications include hospital-based wound and/or ostomy experience, completion of a Wound, Ostomy, and Continence Nursing Education Program (WOCNEP), and current wound and/or ostomy certification (CWON). Previous charge nurse or supervisory experience is also preferred.
Responsibilities- Plans, coordinates and directs the daily operations of a specific shift on a clinical unit.
- Supervises staff and facilitates communication with physicians and internal administrators to provide optimal patient and family-centered care.
- Acts as a change agent and leads efforts to strengthen systems that support the department’s mission, vision, and values.
- Demonstrates creative problem-solving, negotiation, collaboration, and effective communication.
- Provides leadership in nursing care planning and patient outcomes, including resource coordination and policy adherence.
- Mentors other Registered Nurses and develops leadership skills among staff.
- Coordinates unit staffing and evaluates operational resources to meet department needs.
- Assists in administrative activities such as budget planning and cost containment.
- Ensures compliance with educational requirements and ongoing professional development.
- Supports open, candid communication and resolves conflicts as needed.
- Leads and participates in regulatory preparation and quality improvement initiatives.
- Identifies needs for revisions to processes and tests changes where appropriate.
- Provides direction and guidance on policies, scheduling, assignments, and daily operations.
- Maintains professional practice standards and evidence-based care.
- Evaluates the impact of policies on daily operations and communicates effectively with staff and leadership.
- Addresses customer concerns and escalates issues as necessary to ensure patient safety and satisfaction.
- Graduate of an accredited prelicensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- 2 years of recent nursing experience AND a minimum of 2 years of experience in the area of concentration
- A valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing
- BLS certification
- ACLS may be required for certain departments, post hire
- Additional certifications may be required based on department and specialty
- If completing virtual care activities that may include multi-state practice, an active compact/multistate license (eNLC) is required within 60 days of hire
- Must meet all Clinical Nurse Employee Commitments
- Achieves electives/points and contact hours as defined in the PLAN (clinical lattice) point system
- Preferred Qualifications:
Education - MSN or DNP
