Rapid Response Unit Charge Nurse / RN
Shift: 7:00 p‑7:30 a / Full Time / 36 Hours per week

The Resource Utilization Nurse (RUN) is primarily responsible for supporting the critical care units of Emory Healthcare.
- Assist patients leaving the ICU for diagnostic testing or procedures, assume direct patient care assignments as needed, and support during Code MTs and Code Blue.
- Support the emergency department in managing critical care patients awaiting inpatient bed admission and apply EUHOP full‑capacity protocol.
- Monitor patients transferred out of the Intensive Care Units to general units, and handle Code MT and Code Blue transfers.
- Provide ICU patient transport care when other resources are exhausted.
- Respond to Code MT and Code Blue, serving as a resource to stabilize and transfer patients to the ICU.
- Round on ICU patients transferred out of the Intensive Care Unit and those post‑Code MT or Code Blue within 24 hours to enhance continuity of care, communication, and customer service.
- Track, collect data, and monitor metrics used to measure productivity and quality of care delivered.
- Graduate of an accredited pre‑licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) with at least 3 years of recent critical‑care experience, able to manage patients across all Emory Critical Care specialties.
- Graduate of an accredited pre‑licensure Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) with a minimum of 3 years of recent critical‑care experience, able to manage patients across all Emory Critical Care specialties.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
- BLS certification.
- ACLS Healthcare Provider certification.
- Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification.
