Location: Atlanta, GA

Shift: Full-time, 3 shifts per week (12-hour shifts, both day and night rotations)

Salary: Competitive, with a $5/hour differential for critical care

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate ICU Staff Nurse to join our team. In this role, you will provide critical care to cancer patients in a fast-paced and supportive environment. You will work alongside a team of multidisciplinary healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care during the most critical stages of their treatment and recovery.

Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality, compassionate care to patients in the ICU, monitoring vital signs, administering medications, and managing complex medical conditions.
  • Collaborate with oncologists, surgeons, and other medical staff to develop and implement individualized care plans for each patient.
  • Ensure patients are closely monitored for any changes in condition and respond to critical situations with urgency and professionalism.
  • Advocate for the needs of cancer patients and their families, providing education and emotional support throughout their care journey.
  • Demonstrate strong communication skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure a collaborative and positive care experience.
  • Administer critical care treatments and therapies, including pain management, while ensuring patient comfort and safety.
  • Perform assessments, document care, and contribute to patient care discussions during rounds.
  • Uphold hospital policies and protocols, including infection control and safety standards.
  • Foster a supportive and caring environment for patients and their families, ensuring all needs are met with empathy and respect.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2 years of RN experience, preferably with telemetry or critical care patients
  • Strong clinical knowledge and ability to care for critically ill patients, especially in ICU settings
  • Excellent customer service skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach to care
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and make quick, sound decisions
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required; oncology certification preferred
