OverviewAs a Charge Nurse, you will coordinate and direct the daily operations of a specific shift on a medical‑surgical unit, supervise staff, facilitate communication with physicians and administrators, and lead efforts to strengthen organizational systems that support patient and family‑centered care.

- Coordinate and direct daily unit operations, ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.
- Supervise staff, delegate tasks, and provide mentorship to less experienced nurses.
- Communicate effectively with physicians, administrators, and family members to provide optimal patient care.
- Maintain accurate unit documentation, risk‑management reports, and employee conferences within specified time frames.
- Participate in budget planning, cost‑containment activities, and regulatory agency reviews.
- Implement evidence‑based practice and innovative approaches to meet the needs of patients and families.
- Address patient concerns, facilitate escalated issue resolution, and collaborate with the Unit Director or Patient Advocate as needed.
- Graduate of an accredited pre‑licensure Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
- Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in a medical‑surgical or acute care setting.
- Valid, unencumbered Registered Nursing License approved by the Georgia Board of Nursing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required;
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required for certain departments. - Proficiency in the Synergy Model for Care and demonstrated leadership in team building, conflict resolution, and budget management.
- Must meet all Clinical Nurse Employee Commitments and achieve required contact hours per the PLAN (clinical lattice) point system.
- Preferred:
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP).
• Medium‑heavy physical demands including lifting up to 75 lbs and standing/walking for 34‑66 % of the workday.
• Exposure to blood‑borne pathogens, biohazardous waste, chemicals, and other potential hazards typical of a clinical setting.
