Registered Nurse (RN) - Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

TLC Nursing Associates, Inc. is seeking a skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) team. The PACU RN plays a crucial role in caring for patients recovering from anesthesia and surgical procedures, ensuring safe and effective recovery during the immediate postoperative phase.
Job Responsibilities
- Monitor patients as they recover from anesthesia, assessing airway, breathing, and circulation.
- Administer medications, manage IVs, and provide pain and nausea relief post-surgery.
- Identify and respond to potential complications or adverse reactions related to anesthesia or surgery.
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and promptly.
- Provide emotional support and education to patients and families about the recovery process.
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care.
- Adhere to PACU policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements.
- Active and unrestricted RN license in the applicable state.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of nursing experience in PACU, critical care, or perioperative settings.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required; PALS preferred for pediatric facilities.
- Strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and monitoring skills.
- Ability to respond effectively in urgent or emergency situations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
