Description
The Church of The Apostles is an independent non-denominational church with Anglican roots located in Atlanta, GA. The church was founded in 1987 and has remained focused on reaching the lost and equipping the saints for the work of ministry. The Church of The Apostles is committed to making disciples inside our local church. We believe this happens by the persevering proclamation of the Word of God, by the people of God, in prayerful dependence on the Spirit of God.
Responsibilities- Provide administrative support for the Director of Ministries
- Respond to Sunday visitor connect cards and send welcome notes
- Take notes at Vestry and Foundation meetings and execute or schedule needed follow-ups
- Coordinate covenant baptisms
- Send sympathy and celebratory letters to church members
- File sermons
- Create and submit expense reports
- Steward the schedule for the Director of Ministries (setup meetings, maintain calendar, act as gatekeeper)
- Assist the Director in strategically planning meetings with church members
- Support COTA meetings – create agendas for Monday Morning Meeting and Ministry Directors Meeting, attend meetings as necessary to take notes, schedule quarterly Directors check‑in meetings
- Take “general” calls from front desk to direct cross‑departmentally (minimal)
- Provide support for the worship service (coordinate announcements and communion needs, coordinate quarterly Super Coffee Hour event)
- Assist with COTA‑wide events and support membership engagement process (maintain First Look RSVP list, track and follow up during membership process, complete New Member Profiles, enter data, set up and tear down for membership events, create name tags)
- A personal relationship with Jesus Christ and wholehearted commitment to the mission of The Church of The Apostles
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- High attention to detail
- Willingness and ability to delegate, as needed
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Flexible and adaptable to changing needs
- Proficient in the use of web‑based applications, digital tools, and platforms including Microsoft Word, Excel, Google Suite, Canva
- Able to learn and use the Ministry Platform database for data entry, basic reporting, and event bookings
Time &
Schedule:
Full‑time, in the office. Work‑fromhome hours are limited. Monday–Friday schedule with occasionally required Sundays or other special evening/weekend events.
