As an Editorial/Social Media Writer for the IBM Institute for Business Value, you will develop authentic, engaging, enticing copy for the various channels and platforms the IBV leverages to reach our external client/prospect base and our internal IBMer community. Responsibilities include working closely with social media and email teams to develop engagement strategy, tone of voice, brand awareness, conversations and eminence.
Additionally, you will work with the editorial team to write copy for external audiences and platforms, update our social media pages, respond to followers, and track user engagement. You will have expertise with common AI content generation tools, and know when and how to use them most effectively, but not exclusively. Critical thinking, creativity, and ingenuity are expected. To be successful in this role, you should have excellent web content writing skills and experience marketing and advertising on multiple social networks.
Ultimately, you will ensure we maintain a strong online voice and brand consistent with our marketing goals.
- Develop an understanding of wants and needs of the various IBV audiences
- Write and edit emails for both internal employee and external audiences
- Write, edit and publish engaging posts for various social networks
- Optimize social media posts (language, tone, message) based on our target audience’s behaviors
- Select appealing images and videos to complement text
- Update social media pages with compelling company news
- Align messaging to societal and technology master moments
- Coordinate with internal teams to create messaging for internal and external engagement channels
- Track and report on social media insights (traffic, engagement, shares, conversion rates)
- Apply advertising and marketing techniques to boost brand awareness, like promotions and competitions
- Respond to questions and comments on our social media pages in a timely and accurate manner
- Use AI tools responsibly
