Job Description & How to Apply Below

Marketing Director (Architect)
Location: Atlanta, GA (On-Site, Full-Time, Relocation package for the right candidate)
Salary: $130,000–$150,000 DOE
Industry: Home Improvement Retail & E-Commerce

About the Company:

We are conducting a confidential executive search on behalf of a fast‑growing, privately held company in the home improvement retail and e‑commerce sector.

Founded more than a decade ago, the company has evolved from a regional retailer into a factory‑direct business with multiple retail locations and a rapidly expanding e‑commerce presence. As the organization enters its next phase of growth, it is seeking a Marketing Director (Architect) — a self‑directed leader who can own the marketing function, design scalable systems, and put their mark on a growing brand.

About You:

You are a marketing architect — someone who sees the full system before placing the first brick. You take ownership naturally, thrive with autonomy, and are excited by the opportunity to build something and leave your mark. You don't need step‑by‑step direction to be successful.

You're comfortable setting the plan, pressure‑testing ideas, and moving forward with confidence — while still being curious, coachable, and open to learning as the business grows. You bring both conviction and humility to your work.

This role is ideal for someone who wants true ownership, not just a title.

The Role:

Marketing Director (Architect)

The Marketing Director will own the end‑to‑end marketing function across B2C and B2B channels, leading brand evolution, demand generation, ecommerce growth, retail marketing, and sales enablement.

This is a high‑autonomy, player‑coach role designed for someone who wants to take responsibility for outcomes — not wait for permission. You will manage a Marketing Assistant, oversee external partners, and build the marketing engine in a way that reflects your thinking, experience, and leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy, Planning & Ownership
  • Own marketing strategy from concept through execution and optimization
  • Lead annual marketing planning, budgeting, forecasting, and prioritization
  • Set direction without needing constant oversight, while remaining aligned with company goals
  • Build systems, processes, and frameworks that scale as the business grows
  • Make informed decisions, test ideas, and iterate based on results
Brand Strategy & Stewardship
  • Refresh and evolve branding across B2C and B2B audiences
  • Serve as the steward and protector of the brand, ensuring consistency across channels, partners, and retail locations
  • Translate the company's value proposition into clear, compelling messaging for customers, partners, and sales teams
Digital, Ecommerce & Performance Marketing
  • Own digital strategy including website optimization, SEO, AEO, SEM, and Meta advertising
  • Lead ecommerce strategy with a focus on conversion, growth, and customer experience (Shopify experience strongly preferred)
  • Leverage AI tools to enhance creative development, audience targeting, content optimization, and campaign performance
  • Partner with developers and agencies on website redesigns, content strategy, and platform improvements
  • Continuously optimize the full funnel using data and performance insights
Vendor Management & Spend Accountability
  • Fully own relationships with external agencies and vendors (digital, SEO/AEO, development, etc.)
  • Evaluate partner performance, optimize spend, and recommend changes when needed
  • Ensure marketing dollars are deployed strategically and tied to measurable outcomes
Retail, Point‑of‑Sale & Physical Marketing
  • Lead point‑of‑purchase and in‑store marketing strategy, including product placement, signage, and merchandising
  • Support marketing for physical retail locations, ensuring alignment with digital and ecommerce experiences
Sales Enablement, B2B & Events
  • Support a growing sales team and B2B dealer network with clear messaging, campaigns, and tools
  • Develop marketing assets that help sales teams tell a compelling story
  • Support events, trade shows, and experiential marketing initiatives
Analytics, ROI & Continuous Improvement
  • Own marketing analytics, dashboards, and performance reporting
  • Track ROI across all marketing initiatives and…
