Overview
Night Shift is 6pm to 6am when working 12 hour shifts (majority of the year) or 2:45pm to 11pm when working 8 hours shifts. This will be Monday to Friday with occasional weekends. Shift length varies based on workload.
POSITION SUMMARYResponsible for setting up and operating an automatic digital printing device according to written and/or verbal instructions, established company procedures, safety, and quality guidelines.
Essential Job Functions- Receives production work order and job assignments from supervisor
- Runs jobs as they appear on the schedule
- Reads job order to verify substrate and quantity to be printed, designs
- Solves imaging problems and makes adjustments to mechanical operation of device as needed
- Makes recommendations for the success of the printing process as needed
- Understands digital ink systems and has good understanding of digital substrates
- Sets up printer according to established company guidelines, safety, and job requirements
- Prints job maintaining optimum production rate, color density, registration, and quality standard within company and customer guidelines, and makes adjustments as required
- Completes production records and records results in MIS systems
- Ensures proper cleanliness of printer, work station, and immediate area
- May be required to train others to operate printer
- Maintains cleanliness of work area and equipment
Education/Experience: Requires considerable computer knowledge and three to five years of digital printing experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must have good judgment of color, design, and printing quality. High school diploma or GED; or three to five years’ experience in an assembly or related position with quality assurance responsibilities; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong skills in work planning, scheduling, and must have good judgment of color, design, and printing quality.
Special Skills/Qualifications:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical information, general business periodicals, technical procedures, or standard operating procedures. Ability to read reports, respond to business correspondence. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and employees. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to effectively present information, train others, and respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and employees.
CONDITIONS
The incumbent may be exposed to toxins, chemicals, and extreme temperatures (30degrees F – 115 degrees
F), dust, fumes, moving mechanical parts, high pitched noises, or gases. The incumbent will spend approximately 90% of their time indoors.
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and ability to adjust focus.
