Apply finish to manufactured product in a way that meets or exceeds job‑related expectations for safety, quality, reliability, and environmental management. Solve problems with assistance from team members and seek continuous improvement. Performed activities with a high regard for safety. May learn additional functions by cross‑training in other departments as needed.

• Check stain number, apply proper stain, match stain shade to component and sample board, and wipe component to achieve an even, uniform application.
• Sand and tack each component after the first application of polyurethane.
• Maintain daily cleaning of spray gun needles and tips, repair spray guns as needed, and change polyurethane, thinner, or catalyst as required.
• Ensure proper application of polyurethane using spray guns, determining proper application rate to eliminate runs and applying the required two 3‑mm thick topcoats.
• Apply stains, toners, and dyes using spray guns.
• Follow proper recycling procedures for disposal.
• Follow Geiger’s standard quality guidelines for all products.
• Adhere to good documentation practices for quality records or controlled documents.
• Inspect personal work for quality, recognize flaws, and repair as necessary.
• Learn and apply the proper method for finishing each component and consistently follow that method.

Education/Experience
One of the following is required: (1) High school diploma or equivalent (GED, for example) or (2) work experience that demonstrates performance competency.

Skills and Abilities

• Previous finishing experience preferred.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to match numbers from shop order print or component part to stain number.
• Ability to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
• Problem‑solving skills for smaller issues that may arise while finishing components.
• Ability to use a spray gun and an air palm sander.
• Ability to work in a regulated environment.
• Knowledge of safety data sheets when using chemicals.
• Ability to seal, topcoat, spray/shade product to specification and quality standards.
