Position DescriptionTitle: Pouch Operator
Department: Operations
Immediate Supervisor: Manufacturing Manager
Status: Hourly Non-Exempt
Position
Purpose:
Operates pouch machines and produces bubble pouches.
- Set up, operate, and troubleshoot equipment and processes.
- Ensure first offs are completed as per technical specifications.
- Ensure changeover is completed as per standard.
- Establish, follow, and improve equipment and setup parameters.
- Coach and mentor assistants by providing clear and precise instructions, if assigned.
- Ensure materials required for changeover are available and secured prior to set-ups.
- Ensure product is packed and identified as per specifications.
- Ensure accurate inventory and effective control of materials and supplies.
- Minimize downtime by proper equipment setup, ensuring materials are present prior to changeover, and reporting lack of raw materials, tooling, or equipment issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Oversee assistants/packers and provide clear instructions.
- All duties outlined in the assistant job description.
- All other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
- 2+ years in a manufacturing environment / machine operator experience preferred.
- Intermediate math skills and English written communication skills necessary.
- Ability to stand and walk for up to 12 hours at a time.
- Ability to work in a space-limited work area on a continuous basis.
- Ability to lift and maneuver up to 50 lbs on a consistent basis.
- General computer knowledge and experience handling paperwork.
- Effective interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform the physical aspects of the role with a focus on safety and injury prevention.
- Inventory experience preferred.
