Housing and Residence Life supports over 8,700 on-campus residents in 49 traditional halls, suites, and apartments. The department employs 200+ professional staff and 300+ student staff across six departments within the Student Engagement and Well-Being division.
Job SummaryProvides oversight and direction in the planning and/or execution of the operation, maintenance, repair, replacement, and regulatory compliance of all types of mechanical systems, including boiler management, generators, fire and life safety (sprinklers, fire alarms, fire pumps), switch gear low/high voltage, utility location, and elevator management, including providing mechanical contract management oversight for 24/7 Housing and Residence Life operation. Plan and supervise activities of personnel in performing service and maintenance work within an assigned area.
Work supervised involves the application of multiple craft disciplines, which can include electrical, mechanical, and structural, as well as general maintenance and upkeep activity.
The position is responsible for setting employee goals, assessing employee performance, providing feedback, and making pay recommendations. This position will interact on a consistent basis with Operations and Maintenance management, supervisors and staff, contractors, vendors, and customers. This position typically will advise and counsel Operations and Maintenance management, contractors, and customers. This position will supervise assigned craft and general maintenance personnel.
Responsibilities- Receive, review, assign, and track Projects/Services and Preventive Maintenance work orders; make appropriate entries in the work order system.
- Monitor work/projects in progress; provide guidance and direction as required.
- Review completed jobs to ensure requirements were met; follow up as required; solicit customer feedback.
- Coordinate services with other departments as required.
- Maintain and approve time records; address and resolve personnel issues.
- Order materials and supplies; maintain adequate inventory.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirements: High school diploma, GED Certificate, or Vocational School Diploma
Required Experience: Six to seven years of job-related experience

Preferred Educational
Qualifications:
Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree, or two years of college coursework
Preferred Experience: Lead work in a multi-craft shop or organization, with three years in a supervisory role.

Salary Range: $65,393-$88,934/yr
Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesThis job requires skills in supervision/management within a facilities maintenance environment. Included are skills in the application of multi-craft maintenance processes and practices, effective communications, troubleshooting, and conflict resolution. Use of the office and specialized computer applications is required.
