GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
We are seeking a Facilities Coordinator to plan, implement and monitor facility maintenance programs to include construction, repair and new service. This position will also serve as the agency’s Emergency Coordinator as well as coordinating both Safety and Property Inventories at the agency level. DOAS Facilities reports to Human Resources. The position is Monday through Friday onsite at our offices in the Floyd Building in downtown Atlanta.
Job Responsibilities- Performs and/or coordinates, plans and directs the performance of maintenance, construction, and renovation and repairs activities to ensure timely completion.
- Coordinates with Georgia Building Authority to ensure all work is performed in accordance with all applicable guidelines and established practices.
- Monitors work of vendors and contractors.
- Works with Risk Management in with BLLIP entries and All Risk items to ensure all DOAS and leased assets are insured.
- Submits building access cards for DOAS employees and contractors, conduct annual review to validate issued cards.
- Compiles and maintains cost estimates and records for space change requests.
- Resolves problems with customers to include agency employees, vendors, contractors, etc.
- Reviews agency leased space, identifying maintenance issues and taking appropriate action.
- Manages the assignment of workspace and updates floor layout diagrams.
- Agency emergency response plan and implementation.
- Inventory management, including procurement, maintenance and disposal.
- Responsible for Facilities usage policy.
- Works with GBA to maintain clean, safe and comfortable work spaces in agency leased areas.
- Responsible for room setup to meet needs for various meetings and/or events.
Skills and Abilities
- Ability to provide exceptional customer service to a variety of customers.
- Knowledge of maintenance, construction and renovation activities.
- Ability to inspect equipment.
- Ability to coordinate with vendors and Georgia Building Authority to maximize work flow.
- Ability to schedule maintenance activities with multiple customers and vendors.
- Strong multitasking ability in a fast-paced work environment.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
- This position may require occasional travel.
- Completion of a pre-employment background check is required.
- Associate degree in a related field from an accredited college or university; or four (4) years of job-related experience in engineering, maintenance, renovation, and construction of facilities.
- Or one (1) year of experience at the lower level Fac Maintenance Engineer 2 (FEP
041) or equivalent position.
- Four (4) or more years of related experience.
- Experience as an Agency Facilities Coordinator in a state owned facility.
- Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds.
