Job Description SummaryDirector of Operations Support – Responsibilities include developing a career track, leveraging current skills while developing new ones, and working with an incredible team of people.
Position ObjectiveFocus on strategic & tactical decisions that drive company growth. Responsible for developing and implementing unique operating concepts and for the profitable operations of the Region. Work closely with Region Staff to ensure fleet utilization, inventory maintenance, acquisition integration, and implementation of policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
Position Responsibilities- Establish goals for the region that continually drive company growth.
- Work with the Regional VP and District Managers on their interpretation of market landscape for strategic planning purposes.
- Identify, research and evaluate acquisition opportunities.
- Achieve and maintain buy‑in with newly acquired businesses to provide a smooth transition into Sunbelt Rentals.
- Ensure appropriate alignment of the newly acquired business with Sunbelt’s core values and mission.
- Facilitate relationships between newly acquired businesses and Sunbelt Rentals through effective communication.
- Participate in acquisition due diligence.
- Work closely with the Regional Vice President and Fleet Department personnel in identifying and evaluating disposal of equipment.
- Maintain the standardization of used equipment pricing based on parameters set forth by Sunbelt.
- Review company documentation on a continual basis in regard to fleet transactions.
- Develop, direct and monitor short‑term and long‑term plans consistent with overall profit and growth objectives of the region.
- Develop and direct the implementation of the operating plan.
- Maintain a positive financial posture for the region and monitor expense activity.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 6 years’ experience in a corporate or multi‑unit retail or rental environment.
- Proven track record of P/L accountability.
- Experience managing the integration of acquisitions.
- Advanced knowledge of the construction industry preferred.
- Organizational, leadership, communication and analytical skills are necessities.
- Computer‑literate.
- Able to travel frequently.
- Lifting capacity up to 10 pounds; ability to bend, stoop, squat, reach, crouch and kneel; sit or stand for long periods of time.
- Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated success developing relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication with strong presentation skills.
- Strong business and technical acumen, good analytical skills.
- Good project management skills with proven ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
- Working knowledge of MS Office, spreadsheets and database applications.
Requires bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors when required by the job. Work may involve lifting, bending, stooping, squatting, reaching, crouching, kneeling, sitting or standing for long periods of time.
